Third RuralProof Stakeholder Meeting Held in Bač

In line with the project activity plan, the third stakeholder meeting within the international RuralProof project was held in Bač on 15 October 2026.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Municipality of Bač, the Agricultural School in Bač, the Tourism Organisation of the Municipality of Bač, the Bio pčelinja klinika association, the Ravnice Bačke Local Action Group, the Kolevka Bačke Citizens’ Association, and the Regional Development Agency Bačka.

One of the main topics was the upcoming study visit to Bač, during which the Regional Development Agency Bačka, as a project partner, will work with the Municipality of Bač, an associated partner, to host representatives of organisations from European regions involved in the RuralProof project. The study visit will provide an opportunity to present the municipality’s development potential and challenges, as well as examples of good practice, while exchanging experience and knowledge that can help improve local policies and support sustainable rural development.

The meeting also addressed the process of improving the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bač for 2022–2028, the policy instrument at the centre of the project. Within RuralProof, this improvement process draws on exchanges of experience with other European regions, an assessment of existing challenges, and the application of lessons learned in the local context.

Through constructive dialogue, participants considered different perspectives and opportunities for the municipality’s further development. The involvement of local government representatives, educational and tourism institutions, associations, and other local stakeholders is essential to identifying community needs and defining possible directions for improving development policies.

The RuralProof project, implemented under the Interreg Europe programme, aims to empower European regions to improve public policies by taking greater account of the specific needs of rural areas, exchanging experience, and applying good practices. In this way, the project contributes to more sustainable and balanced territorial development and better conditions for living and working in rural communities.
