Regional Development Agency Bačka

The Regional Development Agency Bačka was established on April 28, 2010, in Novi Sad, in accordance with the Law on Regional Development.

The Agency’s members include 16 local self-governments from the territory of Bačka: the municipalities of Bač, Bačka Palanka, Bački Petrovac, Beočin, Bečej, Srbobran, Sremski Karlovci, Odžaci, Kula, Vrbas, Titel, Žabalj, Apatin, and Temerin, as well as the cities of Novi Sad and Sombor. In addition, three entities from the public and private sectors are members: Slovan Progres LLC Selenča, the European Movement in Serbia – Novi Sad, and the Center for Organic Production Selenča.

The Regional Development Agency Bačka has a total of 19 members.

The initiative to establish the Agency was launched by local self-governments in Bačka, with the aim of cooperating and jointly implementing projects through domestic and international programs, in order to strengthen the work of local governments and enhance the overall socio-economic development of this part of Vojvodina.

The foundation of the Agency’s activities is focused on strengthening the institutional capacities of local self-governments, improving and supporting the implementation of development programs and projects at the local and regional levels, and enhancing human capital through training and professional development programs. This particularly includes areas such as strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, project management, support for agricultural development, tourism development, and other sectors related to improving the socio-economic development of the territory in which it operates.
