Representatives of the Regional Development Agency Bačka participated in the fourth partner meeting of the URBANFLOODS project, held on 17–18 June 2026 in Tirana, Albania. The meeting brought together project partners from eight countries of the ADRION region to review the project’s progress, exchange results achieved so far, and agree on the next implementation steps.
Reviewing Progress and Planning Future Activities
During the meeting, partners discussed the progress made in developing the joint Decision Support System for urban flood risk management, upcoming project activities, and further coordination to ensure the successful implementation of project tasks.
Special attention was devoted to strengthening cooperation among partners, exchanging knowledge, and aligning a common approach to developing solutions that will contribute to more efficient urban flood risk management.
Study Visit to the Albanian Pilot Area
As part of the meeting, participants visited the Albanian pilot area, covering the confluence of the Lana and Tirana rivers within the Ishëm River basin. The study visit provided an opportunity to learn more about the characteristics of the pilot site, the challenges related to urban flood risk management, and the measures currently implemented in the area.
RDA Bačka Presented the Development of Transnational Policy Recommendations
The Regional Development Agency Bačka presented the activities related to the preparation of the joint transnational policy recommendations, a work package coordinated by the Agency within the project.
Partners were introduced to the concept of the document, the preparation timeline, the expected contributions from all project partners, and the next steps in drafting the recommendations. The document will consolidate the knowledge and results generated throughout the project and provide recommendations for improving flood prevention and mitigating the impacts of urban floods, with a particular focus on nature-based solutions and enhanced institutional cooperation across the ADRION region.
