The Regional Development Agency Bačka hosted the consortium meeting of the RuralYouthFuture project, bringing together project partners and regional stakeholders. During the two-day programme, participants reviewed the project’s achievements to date, exchanged experiences, and discussed opportunities for improving public policies aimed at supporting young people in rural areas.
A special focus was placed on cooperation with local stakeholders. Representatives of local self-governments from the Bačka region took part in the round table discussion, sharing perspectives on the challenges faced by young people in rural communities, as well as opportunities to create better conditions for their quality of life, employment and long-term prospects in rural areas.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the presentation of good practices identified throughout the implementation of the project. Partners showcased successful initiatives from Spain, Latvia and Bulgaria, alongside other innovative approaches being developed in their respective regions. The exchange of experiences highlighted the importance of interregional cooperation in developing new approaches and finding effective solutions to the challenges faced by rural communities across Europe.
Project partners also presented the progress achieved in each partner region, with particular emphasis on the project’s contribution to improving existing public policies, strengthening cooperation with regional stakeholders, and introducing innovative approaches to the development of measures supporting young people.
Discussions also focused on the upcoming project activities, including preparations for the final project event, which will take place in Brussels in December 2026. The event will provide an opportunity for project partners to present the project’s achievements, exchange experiences with European policymakers, and highlight the importance of interregional cooperation in shaping policies that better respond to the needs of young people living in rural areas.
The RuralYouthFuture project is implemented under the Interreg Europe Programme of the European Union. Its main objective is to strengthen public policies that promote greater involvement of young people in the development of rural areas. Through cooperation between partners from several European countries, the project encourages knowledge exchange, the transfer of good practices, and the development of innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future for rural communities.
