Within the framework of the Hungary-Serbia cross-border cooperation, the Bačka Regional Development Agency, in cooperation with the Hungarian Development Agency, DARFU, prepared and submitted the project titled FOCUS – “Fostering Cooperation, Utilizing Networking, for Sustainable Regional Development in the Cross-Border Regions”.
The main objective of the project:
To strengthen and establish cooperation between the cross-border regions of Bačka and Csongrád, with the aim of ensuring sustainable regional development and reducing the marginalization of border regions.
The main activities of the project involve transferring the knowledge and experience of a development agency from Hungary to the newly established RRA Bačka and its founders (local governments from the Bačka region) through the organization of training sessions, a regional forum on cooperation for all participants from both regions, preparation of a study and/or an action plan for future cooperation between the regions for the 2012-2020 period, databases based on defined key priorities for sustainable regional development, as well as the organization of a study visit to the RRA in Hungary with a focus on implemented projects funded by EU funds.
