The third stakeholder meeting within the BIOPRO Regions project was held in Bečej, during which representatives of the local community exchanged views on opportunities to improve the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bečej.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Bečej Municipal Administration, as the owner of the document being improved, entrepreneurs whose activities are relevant to the project’s theme, representatives of associations and the Regional Development Agency Bačka, a partner in the Biopro Regions project. This composition, bringing together stakeholders from different sectors, enabled development needs and possible solutions to be considered from different perspectives.
The main objective of the meeting was to present participants with the knowledge and experience gained during the study visits conducted so far, as well as a list of good practices from other European regions selected within the project. Through a joint discussion, participants considered which of these practices could serve as inspiration and a basis for improving the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bečej, taking into account the local context and the possibilities for their application.
The exchange of views took place in a constructive atmosphere and highlighted the importance of involving different stakeholders in the development planning process. Bringing together different views, needs and experiences creates space for finding solutions that respond to local circumstances and contribute to better planning and improved public policies.
The BIOPRO Regions project, implemented under the Interreg Europe programme, aims to improve regional policies and policy instruments in the field of sustainable food production and consumption through interregional cooperation and the exchange of good practices. In Serbia, the project focuses on improving the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bečej, drawing on the experiences of other European regions to identify opportunities for the more sustainable development of the local food production and consumption system.
