Regional Development Agency Bačka participated on May 12 and 13, 2026, in the third interregional meeting and study visit organized within the RuralProof – Empowering European Regions through Policy Transformation: A Paradigm Shift in Territorial Development project, financed through the Interreg Europe programme. The event was held in the Thessaly region in Greece.
Presentation of Results and Exchange of Experiences
During the first day, project partners presented the results achieved so far, primarily focusing on situation analyses and case studies for their respective regions, as well as experiences in working with local stakeholders. A special part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation and exchange of good practice examples that will be further developed in the next phase of the project.

Study Visit to Meteora and Trikala
On the second day, a study visit was organized to the areas of Meteora and Trikala, where examples of rural tourism development, local entrepreneurship, and territorial development based on local potentials were presented.
Partners had the opportunity to learn how local communities use cultural and natural heritage to develop tourism and strengthen the local economy, as well as about cooperation models between local governments, development agencies, and local stakeholders through:
- LEADER approach – a community-based rural development approach
- CLLD model – community-led local development
Special attention was given to examples of wine tourism development, infrastructure for active tourism, and territorial investments aimed at improving accessibility and resilience in rural areas.
Importance for Further Project Activities
Participation in this event represented an important opportunity for exchanging experiences with partners from other European regions, as well as for gaining a better understanding of how different rural challenges are addressed through local policies and cooperation with the community.
The knowledge and experience gained will be valuable for the further implementation of the RuralProof project, especially in the process of improving the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bač 2022–2028, which represents the policy instrument addressed by the project and whose owner is the associated project partner, the Municipality of Bač.
