Second Stakeholder Meeting Held within the BIOPRO Regioni Project in Bečej

On April 29, the second stakeholder meeting within the BIOPRO Regioni project – Regions for bio and proximity products – was held in Bečej, with financial support from the Interreg Europe programme.

The overall objective of the project is the exchange of good practices and joint work of partners on improving resources and competencies, with a focus on promoting more sustainable production, as well as enhancing policies and strategies in the field of sustainable consumption.

The project partner is the Regional Development Agency Bačka, while the associated partner is the Municipality of Bečej. Within the project, particular importance is given to the Development Plan of the Municipality of Bečej for the period 2024–2030, which represents a public policy instrument being improved through project activities in areas covered by the BIOPRO initiative.

The meeting was attended by relevant local stakeholders from the fields of economy and agriculture, including:

  • representatives of the Public Utility Company “Komunalac” Bečej, as the company managing local markets
  • representatives of the municipal administration responsible for economy and agriculture

During the meeting, previous project activities were reviewed, as well as the next steps in its implementation.

Special emphasis was placed on the exchange and analysis of examples of good practices identified by project partners, with the aim of finding appropriate solutions that can be applied in the local context of Bečej and integrated into the Municipality’s Development Plan.

The BIOPRO Regioni project continues to contribute to strengthening local capacities and developing sustainable approaches in the field of production and consumption, through cooperation among relevant stakeholders from the local to the European level.
