Fifth Partner Meeting Held within the Danube GeoHeCo Project

The fifth Partner Meeting (PP) and Steering Committee Meeting (SCOM) of the Danube GeoHeCo project was successfully held in Novi Sad on 20–21 May 2026, bringing together project partners from across the Danube Region to review project progress and coordinate the final phase of implementation.

The meeting was organized by the Regional Agency for Economic Development of Šumadija and Pomoravlje (PP11) and took place at the Cultural Station “Svilara” in Novi Sad on the first day. The second day was dedicated to a study visit to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Fruške Terme in Vrdnik, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the practical application of geothermal solutions in a real operational environment.

During the two working days, partners discussed key management and administrative matters, including financial progress, reporting requirements, and the preparation of final project outputs. Special attention was given to the status of ongoing activities, remaining partner contributions, and planning for the final reporting phase of the project.

The second day of the meeting also included a site visit to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Fruške Terme in Vrdnik, where participants exchanged experiences related to geothermal systems and discussed lessons learned from pilot implementation activities.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among partners to ensure the successful completion of all remaining project activities and to further strengthen cooperation during the final stage of the project.

The Danube GeoHeCo project continues to support the development and deployment of shallow geothermal systems as a key contribution to sustainable heating and cooling, as well as to the broader energy transition process in the Danube Region.
