Regional Development Agency Bačka held a promotional event in Kragujevac on Tuesday, October 28, aimed at key stakeholders, during which the results and tools developed through three international projects implemented with the support of European programs – Interreg Danube Program, Interreg Europe, and Erasmus+ were presented.
The event was attended by representatives of all regional development agencies from the Republic of Serbia, and the main goal was to exchange knowledge and experiences, present the developed tools, promote examples of good practices, and showcase upcoming activities to be carried out during the implementation of the projects.
During the event, the following projects were presented:
ReInd-BBG – Reindustrialization Based on the Principle “Brownfield is Better than Greenfield”
The project focuses on revitalizing brownfield sites and reducing pressure on greenfield areas through the development of analytical tools and local action plans for site renewal.
A tool was presented that allows brownfield site owners to analyze and promote these sites to attract potential investors.
Development agencies, as key actors established by local governments—whose territories usually include brownfield areas—were introduced to training materials and tools that will help them use and transfer these resources to their founders.
The project is implemented through the Interreg Danube Region Program.
Green Skills for Sustainable Development
The project, implemented under the Erasmus+ Program, is focused on strengthening green skills and employee capacities.
Five employees from RDA Bačka participated in the international training Education for Sustainable Future in Helsinki, where they gained knowledge about the green economy, mechanisms to reduce environmental impact, and tools to measure the “personal footprint.”
A handbook containing lessons learned was also developed and presented at the event.
SPORTScom – Improving the Efficiency of Community Sports for Strengthening Health Resilience within Regional Policies
The project is implemented through the Interreg Europe program and is dedicated to improving local policies in sport and health.
The project aims to develop inclusive and sustainable sports activities, exchange good practices, and strengthen community mental health.
Partners will gain knowledge through study visits and exchanges with European partners, which will be transferred to local policymakers to integrate similar mechanisms into local development plans.
Participants also had the opportunity to learn about recommendations for further development and improving Serbia’s cooperation in line with European standards.
The event confirmed the importance of continuous cooperation between regional development agencies, knowledge exchange, and capacity building for effective implementation of international initiatives.
Regional Development Agency Bačka will continue to actively participate in regional and European projects that contribute to sustainable development, economic growth, and creating new opportunities for local communities.
