The final conference of the project “Smart land, resilient to climate change, for carbon-free farms – C-FARMS” was held on 28 January 2026 in the conference hall of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, an institution of national importance for the Republic of Serbia.

More than 100 participants attended the event, both in person and online, ensuring broad involvement of stakeholders from different sectors and partner countries.

At the opening of the conference, participants were addressed by representatives of the partner organizations: the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops (lead partner) and the Regional Development Agency Bačka from Serbia, as well as the Vakor Association from Hungary.

Following the welcoming addresses, expert presentations focused on modern approaches to land management under climate change conditions. Particular emphasis was placed on research results obtained from experimental fields and laboratories of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops.

The conference programme covered topics related to the adaptation of agricultural practices to climate change, the application of cover crops and regenerative approaches in agriculture, the improvement of crop production under drought conditions, as well as comparative analyses of different soil tillage systems.

The final discussion provided space for the exchange of experiences between science and practice and for reflection on further steps in the implementation of the presented solutions.

The conference was attended by farmers, representatives of project partners, competent institutions, educational and scientific research organizations, including representatives of ministries, agricultural schools, faculties and several institutes, as well as other relevant stakeholders from the fields of agriculture and environmental protection.

The project was implemented from 1 August 2024 to 31 January 2026 within the Interreg IPA VI-A Hungary–Serbia programme.

The final conference of the C-FARMS project offered an opportunity to review the achieved results and to confirm the importance of connecting scientific knowledge, practical experience and institutional support in the development of sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture. The C-FARMS project provides a solid foundation for the further application of the developed practices and the continuation of cooperation aimed at more sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture in the region.
