Workshop within the ReInd-BBG Project Date of creation 25.12.2025. The Regional Development Agency Bačka, in collaboration with the City of Sombor, organized an interactive workshop on December 16 in Novi Sad as part of the international project “Reindustrialisation Following the Brownfield is Better than Greenfield Principle – ReInd-BBG.” The workshop was held in the conference hall of the “Pupin” hotel, where the project’s goals and activities were presented, along with the pilot location Agrosavez Sombor. Through open discussion, participants addressed key topics in sustainable reindustrialization and the application of BBG principles.Special emphasis was placed on reducing land consumption, preserving the environment, and achieving Green Europe goals, as well as promoting the development of circular and sustainable local economies and balanced territorial development. The workshop was attended by representatives from the Regional Development Agency Bačka, the City of Sombor, local self-governments, and the Development Agency of Serbia. Conclusions significant for continuing the project implementation were adopted during the workshop. The ReInd-BBG project aims to strengthen institutional capacities and reduce socio-economic and administrative barriers in spatial, economic, and ecological transformation processes through the application of the “Brownfield is Better than Greenfield” principle. Regular Session of the Assembly of Members of the Bačka Regional Development Agency held on December 22, 2025. Date of creation 02.11.2025. On Monday, December 22, 2025, the Regular Session of the Assembly of Members of the Bačka Regional Development Agency (RRA Bačka) was held. The session took place at the “Kota 111” restaurant in Silbaš, chaired by Mr. Petar Mijanović, President of the RRA Bačka Assembly. At the beginning of the session, Mr. Mijanović presented the agenda items, while RRA Bačka Director Mr. Aleksandar Dunđerski explained all items, starting with the Work Plan. Director Dunđerski praised the successful cooperation with the founders and highlighted the significant results achieved during 2025. He also announced a detailed presentation of these results at the adoption of the Work Report, to be held in March 2026. The session decided on several key items, all adopted unanimously. Fourth Meeting of Project Partners of the Danube GeoHeCo Project Held and Study Visit in Cluj-Napoca

Fourth Meeting of Project Partners of the Danube GeoHeCo Project Held and Study Visit in Cluj-Napoca Date of creation 23.12.2025. The fourth meeting of the project partners of the Danube GeoHeCo project was held on 10–11 December 2025 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The host and organizer of the meeting was the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN). The meeting brought together project partners to review the progress achieved so far, coordinate upcoming activities, and strengthen cooperation within the work packages. In addition to project management topics, ongoing and planned activities within the thematic work packages were discussed, key project results were finalized, and activities related to pilot investments were reviewed. As part of the event, a study visit to a pilot site was also organized, providing participants with practical insight into activities being implemented on the ground. The meeting also served as an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and cooperation with other projects funded by European Union programmes. On this occasion, the Circular DigiBuild project, funded by the Interreg Danube Programme, was presented. Its aim is to accelerate the adoption of new technologies to support the implementation of circular economy principles in the construction sector across the Danube Region. The B2GreenHub platform was also presented – a platform for creating synergies in the fields of innovation and sustainability – which helps companies navigate regulatory frameworks, enhance market competitiveness, and develop sustainable innovations. During the two-day meeting, partners were informed about activities in the field of communication and dissemination, while tasks related to the preparation and finalization of the transnational action plan were discussed in parallel. This encouraged active participation and cooperation in achieving the strategic objectives of the project. The fourth meeting of the project partners within the Danube GeoHeCo project contributed to strengthening coordination among partners, the timely delivery of project results, and the further improvement of pilot investment implementation. The study visit and interactive sessions additionally fostered knowledge exchange and the practical advancement of shallow geothermal energy solutions in the Danube Region. Strengthening Local Knowledge for a Sustainable Europe

Strengthening Local Knowledge for a Sustainable Europe Date of creation 15.12.2025. An international event within the EU ECO project (Cooperation and Enhancement of Local Knowledge for Sustainable Places to Live) was held in Križevci, Croatia, from 6 to 8 November 2025. Over the course of the three-day program, more than 200 participants from Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Greece, Bulgaria, and Italy came together. The program included workshops, discussions, exchanges of experience, and cultural activities, through which participants presented examples of good practice and initiatives from their local communities. Particular emphasis was placed on the inclusion of marginalized groups, equality, and the fight against discrimination. The aim of the project was to empower citizens—especially young people—to become more familiar with European Union policies, European values, and opportunities for active participation in democratic processes, with a special focus on ecology, sustainable development, and the objectives of the European Green Deal. Through the implementation of the project, cooperation among partner organizations and cities from seven European countries was strengthened, and an agreement on the continuation of the partnership was signed. Participants gained new knowledge and tools for critical thinking and active engagement in local and European processes, while civil society organizations received a solid foundation for the development of future joint initiatives. The project was co-financed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, under the Town Twinning sub-programme. The Rural Youth Future (RYF) project successfully held its fifth inter-regional seminar. Date of creation 02.11.2025. The project Rural Youth Future (RYF) successfully held its fifth inter-regional seminar, held on 15–16 October 2025 at the offices of Galicia Europa Foundation in Brussels. The event was jointly organized by KMOP Policy Center and Galicia Europa Foundation, and over two days it brought together regional partners, policymakers, and experts from across Europe to exchange experiences and strengthen policies supporting young people in rural areas. Reflection on Achievements and Exchange of Good Practices During the seminar, partners from **Spain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Latvia, Portugal, and Serbia** presented concrete policy improvements and transferable good practices. These included initiatives for digital inclusion, entrepreneurship development programs for youth, and innovative tools for education and employment. Participants jointly emphasized the importance of **learning through experience exchange**, **strengthening cooperation among stakeholders**, and **including youth perspectives in the main streams of regional and national policies**. Featured Speakers **Urszula Budzich-Tabor**, Senior Policy Analyst at the **Rural Pact Support Office** and Vice President of **LDnet**, as well as **Adriana Borsellino**, Policy Officer at **Rural Youth Europe**, shared valuable insights on how **multi-level cooperation** and **youth participation** can accelerate **rural innovation and sustainability**. Promotional event held in Kragujevac – presentation of EU projects by RDA Bačka Date of creation 02.11.2025. Regional Development Agency Bačka held a promotional event in Kragujevac on Tuesday, October 28, aimed at key stakeholders, during which the results and tools developed through three international projects implemented with the support of European programs – Interreg Danube Program, Interreg Europe, and Erasmus+ were presented. The event was attended by representatives of all regional development agencies from the Republic of Serbia, and the main goal was to exchange knowledge and experiences, present the developed tools, promote examples of good practices, and showcase upcoming activities to be carried out during the implementation of the projects. During the event, the following projects were presented: ReInd-BBG – Reindustrialization Based on the Principle “Brownfield is Better than Greenfield”The project focuses on revitalizing brownfield sites and reducing pressure on greenfield areas through the development of analytical tools and local action plans for site renewal.A tool was presented that allows brownfield site owners to analyze and promote these sites to attract potential investors.Development agencies, as key actors established by local governments—whose territories usually include brownfield areas—were introduced to training materials and tools that will help them use and transfer these resources to their founders.The project is implemented through the Interreg Danube Region Program. Green Skills for Sustainable DevelopmentThe project, implemented under the Erasmus+ Program, is focused on strengthening green skills and employee capacities.Five employees from RDA Bačka participated in the international training Education for Sustainable Future in Helsinki, where they gained knowledge about the green economy, mechanisms to reduce environmental impact, and tools to measure the “personal footprint.”A handbook containing lessons learned was also developed and presented at the event. SPORTScom – Improving the Efficiency of Community Sports for Strengthening Health Resilience within Regional PoliciesThe project is implemented through the Interreg Europe program and is dedicated to improving local policies in sport and health.The project aims to develop inclusive and sustainable sports activities, exchange good practices, and strengthen community mental health.Partners will gain knowledge through study visits and exchanges with European partners, which will be transferred to local policymakers to integrate similar mechanisms into local development plans. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about recommendations for further development and improving Serbia’s cooperation in line with European standards.The event confirmed the importance of continuous cooperation between regional development agencies, knowledge exchange, and capacity building for effective implementation of international initiatives.Regional Development Agency Bačka will continue to actively participate in regional and European projects that contribute to sustainable development, economic growth, and creating new opportunities for local communities. Partner meeting and study visit within the ReInd-BBG project in Vraca, Bulgaria Date of creation 27.19.2025. The partner meeting and study visit within the project “Reindustrialization Based on the Brownfield is Better than Greenfield Principle – ReInd-BBG” were held on October 8 and 9, 2025, in Vratsa, Bulgaria. The hosts of the meeting were the Chamber of Commerce Vratsa and the Municipality of Vratsa. The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Ms. Iliyana Filipova, President of the Vratsa Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Petya Dolapchieva, Deputy Mayor of Vratsa. During the first day, project partners exchanged experiences regarding the progress of pilot locations, with each partner presenting the activities implemented in their country. Special focus was placed on trainings and materials related to public-private cooperation, as well as on promotional and investment materials currently under development. Participants also took part in group work and discussions about concrete actions carried out in the field, with the aim of transferring knowledge and tools among the partners. After the working session, a visit to the pilot location in Vratsa followed, including the Student Center and a tour of the local industrial heritage. The partners also visited the company Cheh-Plast, where they were welcomed by the director, Mr. Dimitar Ivanov, who shared the story of transforming a production site in line with the principle “Brown is better than Green.” On the second day, the meeting continued with individual consultations with partners, a presentation of geo-mapping of brownfield locations in the Danube region, as well as planning for the development of a transnational roadmap for reindustrialization. BIOPRO Regions – Second Study Visit Held in Sweden Date of creation 10.10.2025. As part of the BIOPRO Regions – Regions for Bio and Proximal Products project, co-financed by the Interreg Europe programme, the second study visit was successfully held in the Dalarna region, Sweden. The event gathered representatives of all project partners and stakeholders. The Regional Development Agency Bačka participated with its project team, while the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops – Institute of National Importance for the Republic of Serbia took part as a stakeholder representative from Serbia. The visit consisted of three main parts: Project Steering Committee meeting Partners reviewed the progress and results achieved so far and agreed on the next steps to ensure the successful continuation of project activities and the achievement of planned results. Study visit to the Dalarna region Participants had the opportunity to discover good practices in sustainable food production and consumption, which represent the focus of the BIOPRO project. The programme included visits to: Stiernhööksgymnasiet, an agricultural school where local food production is integrated into the educational process. The Eco-September campaign, implemented by Organic Sweden, aimed at promoting organic and locally produced food. Skedvi Bröd, a company producing traditional crispbread using old recipes and techniques, recognized for its quality and geographical indication label. Seminar on food innovation and by-product valorisation The first part of the seminar, titled “Food Innovation”, was led by representatives of Dalarna Science Park and focused on exploring new ways to use secondary production streams in the food sector. The second part, “By-product Valorisation”, took place at MurboAnna Dairy, where participants learned how by-products such as whey can be transformed into new, marketable products like refreshing drinks and artisanal ice creams. The study visit in Dalarna provided valuable insights and practical examples of sustainable food system development. The knowledge and experiences gained will serve as inspiration for project partners to adapt and apply these innovative practices within their own regions.
